Mia Hochrein – Lost Place – Artist Statement.
I´m fascinated by the atmosphere of old vacant buildings, because they tell silent stories about the inhabitants and their background. For me the material seems animated and to come alive, when I´m going through the houses and I always find the feeling of hidden “beauty”. In my quest I search for this calm and hidden background that I am always looking for. When I´ve caught it, I can transfer it into an artwork and thereby translate the feeling in the present for a new “life” or existence.
